US envoy to Muslim world
The US State Department has appointed Farah Pandith as its first special representative to Muslim communities.
While an appointment like this should have in my opinion gone to someone with a little more political gravitas eg the first US Muslim congressman Keith Ellison I still think this should be welcomed particularly as a Muslim female has been appointed on merit.
Despite further misgivings over what the exact terms of reference are and why the Representative is reporting to Hillary Clinton in the State Department rather than directly to the President I think the announcement is continuing the confidence building measures by the Obama administration following the closure of Guantanamo bay and the Cairo speech.
There is a mood music developing in the USA which even the Jerusalam Post acknowledges is turning increasingly hostile to Israel. While I've previously mentioned poll results indicating women and Democrats deserting Israel, right wing Republicans like Ron Paul have also called for a dramatic shift in US Foreign policy towards Israel. Lets hope this continues.

Did Michael Jackson die a Muslim?
Judging by the unprecedented surge in interest in this site over the past 48 hours clearly a significant number of you are interested in establishing if Michael Jackson was a Muslim when he died and why I referred to him as a "Brother".
Towards the end of last year a number of reports in the UK and in the USA indicated that like his brother Jermain, Michael reverted to Islam and changed his name to Mikaeel in a ceremony in LA.
In addition, many will have watched Jermain Jackson yesterday when confirming Michael's death saying:
"And may Allah be with you Michael, always. Love you."
The act of becoming a Muslim could not be simpler. An individual needs to make the declaration, known as al-shahaadah.
Ash-hadun alla ilaaha illallah

A sinister attempt to murder a Muslim family in Tooting has left a mother of four seriously wounded children to plead for community prayers as they fight for life in a London Hospital.
This murder attempt follows the attack on the Greenwich Islamic Center last week.

The Iraq Inquiry Debate
As some of you on Twitter will know I followed the debate in the House of Commons on a Tory motion about the Iraq Inquiry.
Notwithstanding the Tory hypocrisy and opportunism bearing in mind they voted for the Iraq war am I the only one who observed how the mainstream Murdoch media intentionally ignored the Zionist connection in the Iraq Inquiry debate
In the Independent, Richard Ingrams explains that by having at least two Zionists, on a committee of five, the Govt tried to ensure the composition was the usual pro war, and Israel first crowd. In other words those who were partly responsible for the war should sit in judgement (initially in private) on their fellow travellers.
Brief History Lesson
The Iraq war was driven by the neo-conservative, Israel firsters, as the beginning of a plan to reshape the Middle East in Israel’s favour. Remember that Project for the New American century or if you forgot, here it is which called for Iraq regime change in 1998 before 9/11. Moreover, many of the Zionist signatories went on to serve in the Bush administration, implement their plan and with thanks to Tony Blair (Labour Freind of Israel) at the cost of British soldiers lives.

Oh and bearing in mind Guardian podcast show Sounds Jewish which asked “are British Jews ending their affair with New Labour and returning to the Tories?”Can you imagine the reaction of the Zionist neo-con to two Labour Muslim Ministers in the Foreign Office rather than what we have now two Labour zionist Ministers in the Foreign Office, David Milliband and Ivan Lewis the latter with very strong Zionist credentials.
Given the zionist connection is it any wonder we get ourselves entangled in foreign wars and turn the finest fighting force in the world, the British armed forces into a mercenary outfit for the Americans.

Jews & Muslims must end "cruel" Halal-Kosher Slaughter
Scientists from the Farm Animal Welfare Council (FAWC) have claimed the slaughter approach adopted by Jews & Muslims is cruel and as a result should be ended.
They claim that the slitting of the throat without stunning causes the animal "significant pain and distress" which is disputed by both Jews and Muslims. London Muslim believes the approach taken in some abattoirs is more distressing than the approach taken by Muslims which as a result of the sharp blades used to cut the neck results in a massive hemorrhage and near-instant death.
While the Government correctly maintains its Religious tolerance and continues to allow Jews and Muslims an opt out from the Welfare of Animals (Slaughter or Killing) Regulations 1995 unfortunately the Muslim cause is not helped by the different approach to stunning taken by the Halal Monitoring Committee and Halal Food Authority.
The FAWC have called for a debate with Jewish and Muslim communities however, my concern revolves around the inactivity of The Muslim Organisations' Working Group ( MOWG) which had been meeting at the Food Standards Agency (FSA) since its inception in 2000. The Group was originally established by the Ministry of Agriculture Fisheries and Food (currently known as Defra). The membership includes representatives of various umbrella organisations, such as, Union of Muslim Organisations, Muslim Council of Britain, Islamic Food and Nutrition Council, Islamic Medical Association, Islamic Shariah Council and Islamic Cultural Centre of London etc. In addition, various Halal Certifiers, such as the Halal Food Authority, the Halal Monitoring Committee and the UK Halal Corporation Ltd, along with relevant food business representatives are also part of this advisory group.
At quarterly meetings The MOWG used to highlight areas of concern to Muslims on food safety and standards to the Agency, however, according to the FSA "Currently, as part of its restructuring process, the FSA is in the process of exploring the best way to engage with the faith communities, and pending the outcome, no MOWG meeting has been scheduled for the near future".
London Muslim finds the current inactivity of the MOWG unacceptable and urgently calls on the Government to conclude its review and ensure the Muslim community has a mechanism for ensuring its voice is heard by Government in this important area.

French President calls for ban on "burkha"
The half pint president of France Shorty Sarkozy has laid the groundwork for a possible ban on the "burkha" in a speech today in France. What's confusing me is the "breach of individual freedom" tag often associated with those who wear the veil.
Apparently, Shorty believes in the freedom of choice which allows his wife to model naked but not the other end of the scale which allows a women to freely express her religious customs and tradition. He could take a lesson from the mature civilised approach of President Hussein Obama on freedom of religion when he said “we are not going to tell people what to wear”.
As far as I'm concerned it says a lot about the priorities of nation when its President can devote so much attention to what some women wear which in reality is a further attempt to stigmatise 5 million French Muslims and divert attention from the economy

As a result of a Freedom of Information request by London Muslim to the UK Foreign Office I can exclusively reveal that the British Embassy in Israel employs no Muslims.
According to the FCO:

Muslim only cells in UK prisons
The Daily Mail has a story about Muslim's apparently demanding Muslim only cells for a variety of reasons including the need to pray and eat away from Non Muslim's.
Clearly, seems the classic Daily Mail story ie singling out Muslims by a lazy journalist who has one source presumably a bent screw.
Unlike the Daily Mail, one would think the prison authorities have learnt the lesson of the Zahid Mubarak tragedy when a Muslim was forced to share a cell with a known racist but due to systemic failure's to heed warning signs Mubarak was brutally murdered.
During the height of the troubles in Northern Ireland authorities realised that different faiths in a closeted environment was a likely cause of tension and as a result separated Catholics and Protestants.
In the USA, due to the gang culture in prison, Mexicans, blacks whites etc are regularly separated to avoid ethnic gang violence erupting.

New Christian and Muslim Guidelines to share Faith
According to a report today a new set of guidelines by the Christian Muslim Forum (CMF) is due to be published next week advising Christians and Muslims on how to share their faiths.
While some Inter Faith Dialogue can seem like a box ticking exercise or an opportunity for others who adopt the approach of seeking to destroy an enemy by making them a friend I think the CMF needs to be congratulated on trying to establish and foster a closer understanding between their two great faiths.
In addition, Sheikh Ibrahim Mogra is someone who is admired widely within the Muslim community and his involvement provides further credibility to the CMF work.

Arson attack on Greenwich Mosque
You may not have read this in any national newspaper however, the Greenwich Islamic Centre has been petrol bombed twice in one week.
Thanks to the brave efforts of the caretaker Mohammad Kohelee, and subsequently the Fire services the Mosque was saved from being burnt down although Mohammad suffered extensive burns.
Reassuringly PC Plod is on the case although no arrests have been made.
Notwithstanding the actions of the vile scum who have defiled a sacred place of worship, just wondering would the mainstream media completely ignore a similar story if graffiti was daubed on a synagogue.
What worries me about this and other unreported Islamaphobic attacks is the cumulative impact it may have on Muslims who see the rise of the BNP and feel under siege from racists as a result of the climate created in large part by the political and media establishment.
Lets hope for a peaceful summer free of disturbances in London.

Apparently the fruitcakes of the Muslim community Al Muhajiroun attempt to relaunch in London yesterday ended in chaos. However, I can't think of a more sensitive equavilent phrase "to cant organise a xxxx up in a brewery".
These thugs seek to exploit the injustices in the world for their own twisted reasons and pervert our faith in the process with their poison which is intentionally designed to cause a reaction. These fanatics are many things but they are certainly not stupid they know remarks like "sharia for UK" will give them the oxygen of publicity they crave.
Just like the Cambridge educated BNP leader Nick Griffin who knows how to exploit the issue of immigration, asylum and the wider islamophobic climate for his own perverted belief of racial superiority, Anjum adopts a similar approach. Anjum and his motley crew of unemployed subversives, who in reality would struggle to fight there way out of a crisp packet are fanatics in the same mould of the BNP.
The irony is of course a plural, democratic and tolerant society allows them to express their ugly dark interpretation of Islam while the society they seek to create would not. Moreover, this country provides them with something many Muslim countries around the world would not the ability to express an opinion (within reason) without being locked up and have the keys thrown away.
These Muppet's are causing irreparable harm to community relations as well as the image of Islam and Muslims. In the first instance as in the case of Luton it is the responsibility of Muslims to ostracise these pariahs from our midst.
Unfortunately I can't make my mind up on who is more odious Douglas Murray or Anjem "Andy" Chaudary. Actually, they both are equally repugnant.

London Muslim anger at sex education
A report yesterday outlined how Muslim parents removed their kids from classes on sex education and now face prosecution from the local education authority.

Muslim Children and Sex Education Muslim parents teach their children to respect their teachers. From a very young age, we are taught that Islam teaches us that after our parents, our teachers are most deserving of respect. It must be an extremely confusing time for the Muslim parent in Leytonstone, London. For up to 30 parents may face prosecution for withdrawing their children from school, disobeying the teachers in the school, simply to secure a decent moral upbringing for their children. The school had decided to have a week of lessons about lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender history. Part of this was a special adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet retitled Romeo and Julian as well as fairytales and stories changed to show men falling in love with men. Rather than filling the heads of impressionable boys and girls with fatuous drivel about gay penguins, schools should be ashamed of the fact that they are sending children out into the world barely able to read, write and add up properly. Muslim children are leaving schools without learning their cultural roots and linguistic skills.
The action was being taken against the parents as part of a policy of ' promoting tolerance'. So why not tolerate parents, who, for sincerely-held reasons, consider their children too young to be taught about gay relationships? This isn't education, its cultural fascism. A record numbers of pupils persistently played truant in 2006-07, with around 272,950 pupils persistently absent in 2007, missing more than 20% of school. We rarely see councils prosecute the parents of these persistent truants. Yet, the parents who removed their children as a one-off to protect their morality may be prosecuted!
If the local council does decide to go through with a prosecution, it would be in line with the government's approach to the Muslim community. Muslims who believe homosexuality is a sin would be labelled as extremists. Liberal totalitarianism is a growing phenomenon in Britain and the west in general but many people will be shocked that the school can override a parent's view of what's appropriate or inappropriate to teach their children.
This latest episode should be a wakeup call for Muslim parents. Muslim parents MUST explain our moral standards to schools and be prepared to take steps to protect our children’s morals and values from a growing agenda to impose liberal values upon them. This is an eye opening for those Muslim parents who keep on sending their children to state schools to be mis-educated and de-educated by non-Muslim monolingual teachers.
The solution of all the problems facing Muslim children is state funded Muslim schools with bilingual Muslim teachers. Those state schools where Muslim children are in majority may be designated as Muslim community schools. Muslim Children and Sex Education Muslim parents teach their children to respect their teachers. From a very young age, we are taught that Islam teaches us that after our parents, our teachers are most deserving of respect. It must be an extremely confusing time for the Muslim parent in Leytonstone, London. For up to 30 parents may face prosecution for withdrawing their children from school, disobeying the teachers in the school, simply to secure a decent moral upbringing for their children. The school had decided to have a week of lessons about lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender history. Part of this was a special adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet retitled Romeo and Julian as well as fairytales and stories changed to show men falling in love with men. Rather than filling the heads of impressionable boys and girls with fatuous drivel about gay penguins, schools should be ashamed of the fact that they are sending children out into the world barely able to read, write and add up properly. Muslim children are leaving schools without learning their cultural roots and linguistic skills.
The action was being taken against the parents as part of a policy of ' promoting tolerance'. So why not tolerate parents, who, for sincerely-held reasons, consider their children too young to be taught about gay relationships? This isn't education, its cultural fascism. A record numbers of pupils persistently played truant in 2006-07, with around 272,950 pupils persistently absent in 2007, missing more than 20% of school. We rarely see councils prosecute the parents of these persistent truants. Yet, the parents who removed their children as a one-off to protect their morality may be prosecuted!
If the local council does decide to go through with a prosecution, it would be in line with the government's approach to the Muslim community. Muslims who believe homosexuality is a sin would be labelled as extremists. Liberal totalitarianism is a growing phenomenon in Britain and the west in general but many people will be shocked that the school can override a parent's view of what's appropriate or inappropriate to teach their children.
This latest episode should be a wakeup call for Muslim parents. Muslim parents MUST explain our moral standards to schools and be prepared to take steps to protect our children’s morals and values from a growing agenda to impose liberal values upon them. This is an eye opening for those Muslim parents who keep on sending their children to state schools to be mis-educated and de-educated by non-Muslim monolingual teachers.
The solution of all the problems facing Muslim children is state funded Muslim schools with bilingual Muslim teachers. Those state schools where Muslim children are in majority may be designated as Muslim community schools. Young London Muslims turning to Alcohol
A report by the London Assembly shows a worrying increase in the number of young Muslims (school age) who are now drinking Alcohol.
Apparently young Muslims of Pakistani and Bangladeshi origin seem to be at forefront of this sad but not surprising development. According to the report "In 2001-04 just four per cent of Pakistani and two per cent of Bangladeshi young people drank at least once a year. By 2005-07, this figure had grown to ten per cent of Pakistani and 12 per cent of Bangladeshi young people,”.
Notwithstanding the societal problems Muslims face with the highest unemployment rates and worst education the reason the drinking is not surprising is due to the growing breakdown within Muslim communities. There appears a growing clash of cultures between parents born overseas and young British born Muslims who seem in act of rebellion to be distancing themselves from their parents cultural baggage.
Moreover, in view of the stigma attached to alcohol which is forbidden in Islam there is probably a significant amount of under reporting regarding the true extent of drinking by young Muslims.
Unfortunately due to the ignorance amongst a section of our elders and mosque leaders who are for example still living in denial that there are no Muslim gays, Muslim youth seems to find themselves between the proverbial rock and hard place ie parents who are out of touch and their own community who disown those with alcohol related problems.
The reports hits the nail firmly on the head by saying “Because alcohol is not a part of the traditional culture in these communities, young Pakistani and Bangladeshi Londoners may be more likely to conceal their alcohol misuse, and may be less likely to seek help for alcohol misuse. “Their parents and carers may be less equipped to identify problem drinking, and less informed about what to do if their child is misusing alcohol, or develops a dependence on alcohol.”

What Education choice for London Muslim children?
A number of reports have indicated the growing pressure on application for places at primary school some national and others relate to London.What's interesting about these stories is how superficial they are. The reports mention one in ten parents missing out on their first choice but avoid any mention of the faith or ethnicity of the kids apparently losing out.

6% of the total school population ie 500,000 is Muslim
Muslims go to some of the highest segregated schools in the country
Levels of free school meals within the Muslim community is amongst the highest in the country.
As a result London Muslim decided to ask a sample of local authorities in London with fairly significant Muslim populations the following question.
The total number and percentage of Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Sikh and Muslim local children who received offers at their first choice of primary and secondary school

The LA's role in law is to administer and co-ordinate the application process. In law, it is the Governing Body of Faith Schools that decide who best meets the faith criteria for their school. The position therefore is that we do not hold the information requested".

Forgive me for sounding conspiratorial here but I fear a cover up. The reason often cited for the pressure on schools particularly in urban areas is demographic ie the birth rate. Well the Muslim community is one of the fastest growing groups in the country with around 80% living in just 5 conurbations.
The reason local authorities claim they do no have figures particularly in London is because there is anecdotal evidence that it is Muslim kids who may be most disadvantaged by not getting into their first choice of schools fuelling the demand within the Muslim community for more Muslim faith schools.
How on earth is Govt going to be able to tackle the resentment within the Muslim community about their treatment in a number of areas eg highest unemployment 16%, highest group with no qualifications etc if the root problem of access to good state primary schools is not addressed ?

American public turns against Israel
Finally and not before time a secret unpublished poll by the shadowy outfit The Israel Project poll shows a dramatic drop in American public support for Israel. Most notable is the significant shift in opinion amongst women and Democrats.
Clearly Obama's rhetoric on settlements, the Cairo speech and of course the murderous atrocities in Gaza appears to be having a significant impact on US public opinion.
However, one particular ominous trend according to comments emanating from the US is that perhaps Americans are making a connection between the various financial scandal's involving well known Zionists from AIG to Bernard Maddof and Israel.
The most heartening figure is the drop from 71% (March 08) to 44% now in Americans who say the US should support Israel.
The US Christian Evangelical Taliban & Murdoch's Fox "News" wil presumably start to go in to overdrive claiming anti semitism although I don't think Mel Gibson was part of the sample.

Rent a quote "Ed" (Mohammad) Hussien from the ludicrously termed "well respected" Quiliam Foundation dos'nt think it's a good idea which means the Govt is on to something. Hussein is a recovering extremist who took a million quid of taxpayers money to kiss the arse of the right wing Zionist Establishment which is presumably how he earned the label "well-respected".
More worrying about this story is how the usual right-wing Zionist suspects in the London Labour Party, many of whom owe their position to the votes of London Muslims are briefing about their "concern" regarding the activities of democratically elected Muslim councillors. Apparently they are "keeping a close on eye" on the situation.
Naturally not a peep about our great ex war leader Blair taking a milion dollar payoff for doing Israel's work in Iraq or the role of Lord Levy of Israel former party fundraiser who arranged money for the Labour party in return for being appointed as Blair's "middle East envoy" despite his son working for the Israeli govt. Reports circulating suggest Gordon Brown is set to announce the establishment of an Iraq War enquiry, perhaps next week. Not a moment to soon.
Having just watched the fallen on BBC last night an emotional documentary about the sacrifice our soldiers and their families made as a result of the lies the government told about WMD it is imperative this Inquiry urgently gets to the facts and is held in public.
In my opinion the disaster in Iraq is being compounded by Afghanistan where British soldiers are being sent into harm sway as a result frankly of Imperial Hubris and not for security reasons or the benefit of the Afghan people as often claimed.
How many more mothers must lose their sons, how many more kids must lose their dads before we realise we cannot win in Afghanistan and subsequently retreat from a country that has never been conquered. When will we learn the lesson of history.

The number of civilians killed in Afghanistan's worsening conflict jumped 40 percent to a new high last year, A record 2,118 civilians died from violence last year, up from 1,523 the previous year.

Muslim Council of Britain & Sport
The MCB recently put out a statement saying amongst other things
The UK's bid to host both the Rugby and Football World Cup has the full backing of the Muslim community.
With the greatest respect to the MCB what a load of rubbish. The difficulty when writing or talking about the MCB is to try & avoid the bandwagon that is the Neo Con cottage industry who love to have a pop at a voluntary Muslim organisation who do some outstanding work on behalf of the community.
However, as an organisation which justifiably claims to reflect the interests of a section of the Muslim community they should legitimately be expected to be held constructively to account as a result of their actions & statements.
In that spirit I must say London Muslim is very disappointed that the MCB Youth committee is allowing itself and and as a result the Muslim Community to be hoodwinked yet again by the sporting Establishment.
London Muslim previously highlighted a number of concerns about the London 2012 Games however, its important the Muslim community is made aware that the great sporting legend aka MCB Sec General Abdul Bari sits on the board of LOCOG & as the accounts in their annaul report will show has earned thousands of pounds in that capacity. Absolutely nothing wrong with the Muslim community being represented on London 2012's board by the MCB but what exactly has Abdul Bari done to merit such a position, what contribution has he made to Board discussions who does he consult when he speaks on behalf of the Muslim community and how does he convey to Muslims the risks and opportunities 2012 presents.
The reason I raise the above points is to inject some transparency into the work of the MCB when it comes to bizarre & sloppy statements like the above which do bring it into disrepute particularly when they claim all Muslims support a cause the MCB support which is not the same.
In addition, due to the important work the MCB do its also vital Muslims appreciate that those earning money while claiming to represent us are putting the interests of all Muslims first and not creating an impression that a small group are simply trying to join the gravy train with first class travel tickets and 5 star hotel stays during another bid when International Muslim support will be sought but once achieved Muslims will be treated like second class citizens.
I tried to contact Kawsar at the MCB Youth committee who is engaged on valuable work with the FA on Islamophobia but he was studying for exams. Some other questions I was keen to put to him were how many Muslims play and watch Rugby and what efforts have the RFU taken to encourage Muslims to particiapte fully in their sport?

Rev. Jeremiah Wright: "Jews" keeping Obama from me
Despite the controversy surrounding his comments during the US Presidential election the Rev'd Jeremiah Wright is standing by his controversial comments during an interview with his local paper. Obama had to publically distance himself from the Pastor last year.
Wright is spot on when he says:
Ethnic cleansing is going on in Gaza. Ethnic cleansing (by) the Zionist is a sin and a crime against humanity, and they don’t want Barack talking like that because that’s anti-Israel.
However, I fear the plain speaking African American preacher confuses Zionists with "Jews" when he makes the following comment which I think is a reference to Obama's Jewish chief of Staff, Rahm Israel Emanuel who served in the Israeli Army. Btw that is his middle name.

UAE "Sex" Case
You may recall the video on this blog about the mad sheikh Isa who after almost brutally murdering an Afghan grain dealer gets his brother to investigate and clear him.
However, it's reported that a British girl has been jailed in the UAE for allegedly sleeping with her boss despite there being no evidence of physical contact. I wonder if the allegation was against the family of the ruling sheikhs would the authorities be as keen to prove their so called hardline approach to sex outside marriage.
Two things spring to mind, Inconsistency & hypocrisy.

Despite being exhausted after having to give up on the bus & walk home I do think Bob Crow the leader of the RMT has a point when he urges London Mayor Boris Johnson to get out of his bunker and engage the unions in order to bring the strike to an end.
Clearly a strike is not in any ones interest and affects millions of travellers so rather than offering cheap soundbites Boris should engage with the issues and avoid the chaos London suffered partly as a result of his inaction when we had a bit of snow in the winter.

Shahid Malik cleared in expenses row
Shahid Malik has been cleared and proved innocent (as he always claimed) of the expenses allegations levelled against him by the Torygraph.

Zionists against Brown (ZAB)
Another ZAB has resigned from the Government this time Jane Kennedy Minister of State at the Department of Environment and more interestingly member of Labour Freinds of Israel (LFI).
The LFI have traditionally been an insidious cancer within the Labour Party championing the cause of Israel and are increasingly turning their attention to Iran now that they have successfully achieved the destruction of Iraq.
This powerful and secretive outfit seem to be the main instigators in the hard right conspiracy attempting to destabilise Brown, presumably never forgiving him for his role in kicking out the champion of Israel, Blair who recently received a handsome payoff for his service to Israel.
Have a guess what the likes of Byers, Flint, Blears, Purnell, Kennedy etc all have in common, that's right membership of the LFI.
While no other political blog campaigned for Sadiq Khan to join the cabinet, likewise no other blog, newspaper or television channel will publically make the connection between Zionists, LFI and the hard right plot to bring down Brown. Why, its about the media being tamed which you can read here
My only criticism of Brown who also has well known Israeli sympathies is that he should have been aware that these Zionist plotters were simply biding their time and waiting to pounce and as a result he should have sacked earlier.

My only criticism of Brown who also has well known Israeli sympathies is that he should have been aware that these Zionist plotters were simply biding their time and waiting to pounce and as a result he should have sacked earlier.

Racist Reaction on Ian Dale's Blog to Sadiq Khan's promotion
Racists, "Disillusioned Dale Blogger" on Ian Dale's blog have reacted to the promotion of Sadiq Khan's Cabinet appointment as Transport Minister by making the following comments:

I'm all for free speech and will defend the right of racists to spout their opinion so that we can attempt to defeat it through reasoned debate and argument. However, ideally political debate should be elevated from the gutter, the comment above has but intention to inflame and frankly incite hatred towards a whole community as a result of the appalling actions of mass murderers. Muslims also died as a result of those bombs.
Racist comments and the general Islamophobic climate we find ourselves in should be a wake up call initially to the Muslim community on how comments from some Tory leaning characters can be so closely aligned with the vile politics of the Fascist BNP. It's fairly ironic that as we celebrate the achievements of D day & Normandy the Fascists are making a political comeback in Europe. Oh, and btw when I say "we" that does include Muslims who also died fighting the Nazi evil as the following web site makes clear not that you would have noticed from the Murdoch coverage which concentrated more on Liz being snubbed by the French.
Muslims individually and collectively need to politically wake up & organise against the right wing political and Media establishment who under the guise of freedom of speech have allowed an atmosphere to develop when such vile comments are allowed to go unchallenged in much of the discourse up & down the country.

Ken Livingstone on the right wing plot to topple Brown
Ken Livingstone once again spot on regarding the coup attempt by zionists like James Purnell former vice chair of Labour Freinds of Israel to oust the Prime Minister.
“While Labour Party and trade union members were out campaigning for Thursday’s elections, a narrow clique of hard right-wingers were doing everything in their power to sabotage Labour’s campaign and carry out a coup against the Prime Minister.
“The rank and file and the party will have nothing but contempt for these people.
“The elections show that the British people want more radical measures to protect them in the economic crisis and decisive action to end the abuse of MPs' expenses.
“The parliamentary plotters have nothing to contribute to protecting ordinary people from the economic crisis. Their criticism of Gordon Brown is that he is not Thatcherite enough! And many lost all personal credibility by abuse of the MPs’ expenses system.
“The splitters should be brushed aside so that the party can focus totally on winning the general election. That requires more, not less, radical economic policies. The new top tax rate, which many of the plotters oppose, was a step in the right direction. Now we need to see nationalisation and direct government control of those banks which are in reality bankrupt and clear instructions that they re-start lending to businesses and families. Where the market fails, as in the construction and house-building sectors, the government should step in directly to revive investment".

Promote Sadiq Khan to the Cabinet
Unless you live on Mars it may not have escaped your attention that unfortunately the Labour Government appears to be imploding.
Currently, cabinet ministers seem to be going quicker than a hot curry in Southall. While London Muslim is not sad to see arch Zionist, James Purnell and Hazel "rocking the boat" Blears going in what appears a co-ordinated ring wing blairite conspiracy, Gordon Brown needs to get a grip.
The cabinet Mr Brown leads is, outrageously in 2009 all white, even opportunist Dave "I'm proud to call myself a Zionist" Cameron has a Muslim in his shadow cabinet, Sayeeda Warsi.
Sadiq Khan is a talented and loyal politician doing a good job as Cohesion Minister building bridges with all communities most notably the Muslim community. Given the mess Hazel Blears made at DCLG befriending the Neo-Cons of Policy Exchange and urging the boycott of the Islam Expo, its time for the Labour party to start appearing reflective of the wider community particularly those that have traditionally supported the party.
Not only is Sadiq a Londoner, a Muslim and a serious thinker who in his role at the Fabian Society wrote a groundbreaking pamphlet "Fairness not favours" on how to reconnect with British Muslims he also perhaps most importantly deserves promotion on merit.

UK Muslims "conned" into eating Pig
According to a report in today's Independent Muslims along with other faith communties may have been unwittingly eating adulterated chicken containing pig following an investigation by the Food Standards Agency.
London Muslim has written previously about bread containing pig enzymes.
Without wishing to sound melodramatic this issue does have all the hallmarks of a growing scandal and as a result requires action by a number of stakeholders including Government, Industry & the regulators in order to provide reassurance to the community.
Muslims not surprisingly will be feeling somewhat bewildered and confused by recent stories concerning Walker's crisps containing alcohol, bread containing pig enzymes and now chicken containing pig.
According to Masoud Khawaja, President of the Halal Food Authority http://www.halalfoodauthority.co.uk/front.html who I've just been speaking with the HFA are fully engaged in this area and have been for over 3 years. They have been lobbying here in the UK and in Europe and will continue to keep this issue on their radar for the foreseeable future.

UK Islamic Hotline established
The BBC today have a report about the establishment of an Islamic Hotline offering advice about Islam.
I'm all for it particularly if the young use it and get appropriate advice about Islam from a trained scholar with the prestige of an Al Azhar training rather than brainwashing from the local Al Muhajarin nutter.
While I don't think this hotline in isolation will defeat the extreme nutters it certainly is a positive step in the right direction and should be welcomed.

Christian Hate Preacher
This is the face of a certifiable first class prat. He currently goes by the name of "Pastor" Jonathan Oloyede and besides wearing Elvis Pressley shirts seems to be trying to rival Michael Nazir in who can make the most offensive remarks towards Muslims.
I refer to his "current" name as he has renounced Islam in order to embark on a career spewing hatred towards Muslims. As a result, since he ticks all the boxes of being black, fashion challenged, a convert to Christianity and makes offensive racist Islamaphobic remarks he'll soon become the darling of the media establishment.
At a so called Global day of prayer where Christians prayed in each London borough during a Sunday Pentecost prayer service Jonny "Rotten" when mentioning the Mega Mosque plans in East London was reported as saying:
"I used to be a Muslim. The Muslims don't just want to build a mosque. They want to take over."
Clearly on the nutty evangelical/Pentecostal wing of the church, Jonny "Rotten" should try and engage that pea size brain of his before he opens his mouth and incites hatred towards others. Some of his remarks in my opinion require a closer criminal investigation by the Police.
